The Association of Nurses in AIDS Care was looking to refresh its look and create a logo that represented its past, present and future. We spent time talking with chapter focus groups around the country and surveyed members online to learn more about the organization. We learned that every nurse could be treating AIDS patients; nurses specializing in AIDS care also have to be well versed on other diseases common to HIV-positive patients; and that ANAC nurses are a very close-knit group.
It made us think of the weave of fabric with strands of different colors representing the diversity of the ANAC nurse. After modifications were made, the end result was a mixture of ribbons in an icon with the red ribbon (symbolizing support for HIV/AIDS care) being the prominent color.
